Off Road Mode Indicator

Off Road Mode

Off road indicatorThis is an Off Road Mode Indicator symbol. Its appearance is that of a winding road, or squiggly line, with mountains or triangles in its path.  It will appear in gray scale in the instrument panel’s center information display.

  • Before continuing, are you sure this is your symbol?? If yes, then read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!

The mode is used to improve driving on grass, gravel, dirt, unpaved roads, or snow-covered roads that have not been groomed or plowed. The accelerator pedal will be more sensitive to provide finer control of the torque at the wheels.

In addition, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the Antilock Brake (ABS), and the Traction Control (TCS) systems will automatically adjust for optimal off-road performance.

If the indicator is unexpected, it is likely that the Mode selector has been pressed inadvertently.

Remember that only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the  use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.
