Seat Backrest Not Engaged Dashboard Indicator

Seat Backrest

Back rest unlatchedThis is a Seat Backrest Not Engaged Indicator symbol. It is seen in black and white in the center information display, along with a text message that will identify the exact seat that is actually in need of attention.

  • Before moving on, is this truly your symbol??
  • If not, you can return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!

In most cases, it will be a simple matter of folding the seat backrest back until it engages. However, there are electronics involved, so if it turns out that all the identified seat is fully latched, do a restart of the vehicle and check that the indicator is off. If not, see your dealer or authorized repair shop.

Remember that only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the  use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.
