Acronyms page gets three new entries

The Fiat dashboard symbols update resulted in three new entries for our acronyms page. However, only one is truly new.

For instance, the acronym for Active Speed Limiter (ASL) was added to the existing ASL, Automatic Speed Limiter. The acronym for Traffic Sign Assist (TSA) is already in use for Trailer Stability Assist. We added it as well.

The truly new acronym is ISA, or Intelligent Speed Assist. The system combines the Active Speed Limiter (ASL) and Traffic Sign Assist (TSA) systems to automatically adjust the maximum speed of the vehicle based on detected traffic signs. The resulting symbols use another acronym, LIM for LIMiter and add a sign in the image. In white, the systems are ready. In green, the systems are on.

Changes

Cars are changing, and among those changes is the growing number of symbols and indicators that will invariably show up on your dashboard or instrument panel. Every year, new features are added to vehicles, each of which is accompanied by a new symbol or symbols and likely a new acronym.
