Rivian symbols page now has the new color treatment

As we continue to work an extensive 20 model Toyota update as well as a full schema work up across some 700 pages and posts, we made the time re-align our Rivian symbols page by color. That makes 38 pages now re-done to reflect the new color ordering, including our primary pictographic symbols page. We are more than three fourths of the way through the reordering of the 49 pages manufacturer symbols pages.

We only just created the page in June (2024), well short of the moment we opted to re-set all our symbols pages by color. The page holds over 70 entries, which is quite small compared to the trend towards 100 and more symbols and indicators from other manufacturers.

The re-ordering has red warning lights up first, followed by yellow/amber/orange (depending on how you see the color!) warning lights and symbols, then blue and green indicators and finally white and gray scale indicators.

As an electric vehicles (EVs), the line lacks internal combustion engines. As a result there are just over 40 symbols and indicators on the page.

Ordering the page by color provides a cleaner, simpler option for drivers searching for information on a new symbol.

Cars are changing, and among those changes is the growing number of symbols and indicators that will invariably show up on your dashboard or instrument panel. Every year, new features are added to vehicles, each of which is accompanied by a new symbol or symbols and likely a new acronym.
