A number of changes in the Google algorithm over the last 18 months have made life difficult for us here at DashboardSymbols.com. Visits are down massively. Despite that, DashboardSymbols.com hit three milestones, all within a single week.

In that seven day period, we crossed 15 million web visitors, 18 million sessions and 65 million total page and video views. It seems nearly impossible given the overall lack of traffic currently. Google is now favoring local businesses we simply are not a local business.

Despite that, we remain committed to help drivers understand what is happening to their vehicles at the first sign of trouble, which is usually a new warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. And where possible, we hope to bring the latest technologies down to earth and understandable for everyday drivers.

All the while, our YouTube channel provides real help to drivers caught off guard by a dead key fob battery. Here, our first concern is safety. In all likelihood it will be dark or rainy or cold or all of the above and there you are caught outside the relative safety of your car’s interior.

We’ve had dozens of comments like this one “You saved my life” that we’ve only in the last 6 months began saving on the website. We need permission to do so. The latest one was on one of the coldest days seen in the US in years.

Of course, all that information is on the website as well, but a video can be easier to follow. Wherever the information is accessed, our goal remains to help you feel safe – and keep you moving or get you moving if at all possible – rather than leave you fretting whenever your key fob stops working.

The material on these pages is provided for information sharing purposes only, and should not be used in lieu of an OEM service manual or factory authorized service procedure. We are not in the auto repair business nor do we publish automotive service manuals. Nothing we include on these pages and posts has been reviewed, approved or authorized by any vehicle manufacturer.

Remember that only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
