EV jump starting

Today we posted a new video on our YouTube channel describing Kia EV jump starting. With it, we made a new playlist, calling the video the first of what we hope will be a series of videos on the topic.

In truth, its the second, but we didn’t realize the first one was a jump start video!

A friend had called in a panic last August (2024) with her Tesla coming unglued. We were able to determine that her start battery, not her high-voltage battery, was dying and then made a video describing how to get inside a Tesla if the start battery dies.

We didn’t actually realize at the time that this is effectively a Tesla jump start process!

Once the car is unlocked, it can also be started — presuming that power can actually pass through the 12-volt battery on a continuing basis.

We have since replaced the Kia video with one that adds entry instructions, since the driver could very well be locked out.

Vehicles covered include the Soul EV, Niro EV, EV6 and EV9.

You can see those videos in our new playlist here.
