We just added a new video to our YouTube channel helping Tesla drivers get into and jump start Tesla models with a dead start battery. It replaces one that we did a few months ago that stopped at getting Tesla owners inside their vehicles.

It became clear that just getting inside their vehicles when the 12-volt start battery dies was simply not enough. Reports of EV drivers getting caught unaware that their EV even has a 12-volt battery were piling up.

This is now the third in a new series we’ve begun intending to cover all EVs sold in North America. Its become clear that even roadside assistance personnel are unaware of an EV having both a low-voltage battery complimenting the vehicle’s high-voltage battery,

Getting inside a Tesla is unfortunately, a nightmare. The company does not offer mechanical keys and key cylinders as back up. And they absolutely should.

We call on all manufacturers to end the practice of either ignoring the addition of mechanical keys for back up or offering them as a separate and too easily lost item…
