Smart symbols page

Its taken several weeks, but with the addition of a new child safety lock on indicator (left) our Mercedes-Benz division Smart symbols page is at last complete. The safety lock symbol is one of at least a dozen new symbol we had to create for the page.

We also generated 11 new posts representing new systems created for Smart vehicles. Notable are a life detection system, which has an off indicator, which looks like a person reclining. The system default is to be on, which is a very good thing.

It uses as sensor to check all passenger spaces for living beings after the vehicle is powered off. If a child or pet or is detected, the driver will be reminded through alarms or intervention measures and a text message will sent. Best of all, the Climate Control will be turned on! Check it out here.

We have lots of towing indicators on the site, but Smart brings us a do not tow warning light and a set of trailer hitch indicators.

The do not tow is a not a warning not to attach a trailer, but rather a warning not to tow the car with its wheels on the ground if it is disabled. The vehicle must be placed on a flat bed truck. See more here.

Smart also has a system that detects that a trailer is attached and properly, or not properly locked. You can see more here.

And the Smart dashboard symbols page itself, and its 90+ entries, is here.

Remember that only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
