We just dropped a new video on our YouTube channel with help to jump start Cadillac EVs. We continue to hear reports of drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) getting caught unaware that their EV even has a 12-volt battery.
They do, and like internal combustion engine vehicles, those EVs can be jump started.
This is now the fourth in a new series we’ve begun intending to cover all EVs sold in North America. Its clear that even roadside assistance personnel are unaware of an EV having both a low-voltage battery as well as a high-voltage battery,
And Cadillac makes the process rather difficult. The Escalade‘s two stage door release gave us a headache, But we got it open. And the Lyriq, Optiq and Vistiq models can only be entered from the back hatch.
Further, Lyriq and Optiq drivers will have to crawl through to the drivers door to open the car and pop the hood for access to the start battery.
