While continuing the update of Cadillac symbols, we found ourselves adding two new drive modes. In fact we added two new snow and ice mode symbols in use in different models at the same time!
In examining this, we came across a table in the CT4 owner’s manual that shows all of the drive mode variations available to the driver. Have a look below.
It isn’t immediately obvious — and its a little hard to read — but there are at least 10 different modes available affecting everything from traction and transmission to throttle and suspension response. And our table now includes 15 distinct symbols that may appear in a Cadillac message center or instrument panel associated with drive modes.
Drive mode symbols and indicators are an old pet peeve of ours, as the drive mode page is nearly out of control. We’ve been assigning manufacturers to groups of symbols, which is helping somewhat. To the right are the two snow and ice mode symbols in use concurrently…
