A review of 2026 Lexus back-up open and start processes finds no changes. However, it did prompt a change in the back-up open page.
Back-up open and start procedures are made necessary in the event that the battery in the key fob dies.
Once again, owing to the upcoming Toyota/Lexus EV jump start video we are preparing, it became a great time to run this update. In particular we had to be sure there were no entry changes.
But we did discover a very awkward presentation and a table of contents omission. The LS and ES models have shared a door handle, seen to the right, with other Lexus models since 2018 and 2019, respectively. The page alludes to it but did not properly point to it.
It does now. No changes at all were necessary for the back-up start page.
The Lexus back-up entry page, which is shared with the simpler Toyota models, can be seen here.
