A thorough review of 2025 and 2026 models resulted in the addition of 20 entries to our BMW symbols page. Oddly, we had to add only a single new image to our collection. Otherwise, the remaining 19 are images made previously vehicles from other manufacturers, primarily Mini.
The page now joins most other manufacturers, holding over 100 images.
The most unusual addition is that of what used to be used primarily as the Master Warning light. It will be seen in other vehicles when a problem arises in vehicles that have message capability in the instrument panel. A message would be added pointing to the actual issue.
But here, BMW uses it to warn of an immanent collision, even if the source is not recognized. The manual states that there is a “risk of collision with vehicle from unrecognizable direction of travel detected. Increased awareness is required.” The warning light will flash and a signal is heard.
The new image is a gray version of a Speed Limiter symbol. If seen, it indicates that the system controlling the speed is interrupted.
