The U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released monthly motor fuels prices for October 2025. The average price for regular motor gasoline was $3.06 per gallon; down 3.3% from September 2025 and 2.5% from October 2024.
By region, the average price for regular motor gasoline in October 2025 and year-over-year change was up on the West Coast ($4.18, 3.9%) and down everywhere else.
Central Atlantic: $3.09 (down 3.1%)
Rocky Mountain: $3.02 (down 6.7%)
New England: $2.97 (down 2.2%)
Midwest: $2.86 (down 5.3%)
Lower Atlantic: $2.84 (down 3.7%)
Gulf Coast: $2.62 (down 3.2%)
The average price for diesel no. 2 rose to $3.68 in October 2025, down 1.8% from September 2025, but up 2.6% from October 2024.
