Nissan symbols page gets but five new entries

Nissan symbols page

A full review of 2025 and 2026 models resulted in the addition of but five new entries to the Nissan symbols page. And while we made two images, this was only because the company’s representations are somewhat different than versions used by others.

Nothing really new under the sun.

New to Nissan, but not to us, however is the use of an Idle Stop System (right), but only in the 2026 Sentra. The company has not chosen to use the technology in any other vehicle.

We made and added a new Auto Brake Hold image in black and white (left), which simply indicates that the system is ready. All in all the company has resisted the rush to add indicators in the gray scale color scheme that other manufacturers have.

We also made a Hill Descent Control symbol (right) for Nissan. Just a little different from other manufacturers.

Finally, the company added a red version of the Pop-up Hood indicator (left). The Z model uses this technology. In the event of a collision with a pedestrian, the collapses back and up at the windshield to lesson the impact.

The Nissan dashboard symbols page and its now 105 entries can be seen here.

We are not in the auto repair business, nor do we publish automotive service manuals. Nothing we include on these pages and posts has been reviewed, approved or authorized by any vehicle manufacturer.

Remember — only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
