Following up on the Dodge tech review, we chased down Chrysler and Ram tech as well, and they too have not made any changes to the back-up open and start processes in 2026.

We took a look at Dodge in anticipation of an electric vehicle (EV) jump start video. We were reminded that Chrysler and Ram share the back-up pages, and in addition, Ram has the electric Promaster model that we can add to any jump start video we put together, alongside the Dodge Charger EV.

As to the back-up open and start processes, all Chrysler and Ram models have a visible key hole that can be accessed with the mechanical key found in the fob.

To reiterate, back-up open and start processes are necessary in the event of the battery in the key fob becoming depleted or because of possible interference from outside radio sources.

The Chrysler and Ram back-up processes can be seen starting here.
