I spotted some rather subtle and clever Lucid features referenced in a recent commercial for the electric Gravity.
The two minute spot, featuring the Brand’s Ambassador Timothy Chalamet, finds a newlywed couple broken down on the side of the road. They come upon a plugged in Lucid Gravity, which they steal without unplugging!
As they race out of town, chased by police, they eventually zoom past a sign carrying the words Tucson, 430 miles. Next is a shot of the instrument panel showing the car’s rated range, 450 miles.
That screen wasn’t needed. It had already been alluded to. As soon as the road sign appeared, the immediate assumption was that the car could cover that distance, likely with some room to spare.
It’s not the proper way to use an EV’s battery — note the 20 – 80 rule — but a very clever way to present a car’s capability.
Also demonstrated is some impressive acceleration seen through much of the spot as well as what is a very clever breakaway charging plug.
