Performance transmission active indicator

Performance transmission

Performance transmission indicatorThis is a Performance Transmission Active Indicator symbol. Found in the Chevrolet Corvette, it will appear in green if the transmission shift points have been altered to enhance the vehicle behavior when track driving.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

For track driving events that require standing starts, Performance Transmission behavior can be activated near a standstill by selecting Track Mode > Performance Traction Management (PTM) > and Race 1 or Race 2. PTM can also be activated using Z-Mode, if PTM has been configured to Race 1 or Race 2.

Among the changes that may be encountered are earlier downshifts with higher rpm’s during aggressive braking (i.e. entering a corner), altered upshifts during lateral acceleration, not upshifting when the accelerator is released to avoid additional shifts, and recognizing and anticipating upcoming corners with the appropriate gear selection entering and exiting corners.

This has been used by other manufacturers as a Sport Mode selection from one manufacturer. It also indicates that more aggressive shifting will be employed, but not to the Corvette specifications. See it here.
