Ram drive mode

This page holds Ram Drive Mode Indicator symbols. The list of drive modes on our original page is growing so large it became apparent that a separate page would be appropriate.

Note that if you are surprised to see one of these it is likely a drive mode has been accidently activated via one of the buttons on the steering wheel.

Ram offers a set of drive modes for its 1500 pick up; Tow, Snow, Mud/Sand, Rock, and Baja. Transmission, stability control, suspension, and steering systems are all adjusted to accommodate the different scenarios. Paddle shifters will be enabled in some cases.

Unlike the illustrations often used by other manufacturers, Ram makes identifying modes simple by using simple text indicators.

Another mode is Valet. This one leaves only the door locks and ignition active or available for use by a valet to park an owner’s vehicle. Forgetting to disengage this mode will lock out the trunk and glove box, and may be temporarily confusing.

And even Ram can be Eco friendly with the ECO Mode option. This mode generally reduces the responsiveness of the accelerator pedal in an effort to save fuel, although the company does not explicitly state this in the manual. It appears in green.
