We found an opportunity to look at the 12 V terminal in a Polestar 3 and, aside from having to lie on the floor or ground, its a relatively simple find and simple to use.
So, the trick, if you will, is to lie beneath the front bumper on the left side. The are two tabs, one on either side. Only one is seen in the video below, but both can be seen in the image.
Pinch them inwards and then pull the square cover down. Its hinged and everything remains attached to the underside of the bumper.
On it are two terminals covered by bits of plastic insulation. The one closest is marked with a plus (+) sign and the other is marked with a minus (-) sign. Connecting a 12 volt power source will allow access to the vehicle’s interior.
The insulator in between is marked as 30 A, and the manual notes that no more than 30 amps should be applied.
So, if you find yourself in a Polestar 3 or 4 and a dead 12 volt start battery, the 12 V terminal will get you inside the car.
Next, we need to clarify the suspicion that the process of supplying power to the terminal will also jump start the vehicles!
