The weather remains on the cool side, but the latest charge results for the Niro EV finds an increase to 283 miles. That’s extrapolated from the 235 miles shown at an 83% charge, and up 8+ miles from the last charge (below left).
DC charging is still currently the only option and still did not see the charge rate exceed 56 kW. Research indicates that the car should be capable of hitting 85 kW. The manual would seem to indicate that 100 kW is possible in its charging time table (below right) (the image is only part of the table).
The manual does not indicate a means to pre-condition the battery, but the same research suggests that if the vehicle’s own navigation system is used to travel to a charge station, the battery will be preconditioned along the way automatically.
I have no independent corroboration of this and do not believe anyone at the local dealer will be helpful. But I sure will try it!
I noted last time that the Niro does have Winter Mode, which should warm the battery. I forgot to use it.
I will do one or the other (or both), hopefully next time, and report back.
