Child Seat Installed Indicator

Seat Occupied

Child seat occupied indicatorThis is a Seat Occupancy Recognition or Child Seat Installed Indicator symbol. A fault in the system is indicated if the symbol is flashing.

The image is a drawing of a seat with a smaller seat facing it with a child inside. There is an X in the corner, and all is in yellow/amber.

This is seen in some older vehicles only. The use of child seats in front seats is now outlawed nearly everywhere. However, the transponders would seem to be a good idea that could have been spread to rear seats in order to help avoid leaving young children behind in vehicles in warm weather.
