Electric motor temperature

Electric motor temperature indicatorElectric motor temperature indicatorThese are Electric Motor Temperature Indicator symbols. In blue, the motor is cold. In red, the motor is too hot. In the latter case, it is recommended that the throttle be eased back to allow the motor to cool. In the first case, it is recommended to continue driving so that the motor can warm up. Performance is optimized in either case.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Pictographic Symbols page and scan again!

These symbols are brought to us by the Ford Motor Co. and are found in the Lightning EV models. Its important to note that the motors have a cooling system very much like that of an internal combustion engine, requiring very similar levels of attention and maintenance. Consult the manual for proper procedures and coolant requirements.

High Voltage Battery LowHybrid battery overheat indicatorDo not confuse the symbols with the symbol on the right, which, while using the same image base, relate to a high-voltage battery. Temperature is first, here, and charge is second, here.
