Tow Bar Not Locked
These are Tow Bar Not Locked Indicator symbols. If equipped, the indicator will be seen if a towed vehicle is not properly connected to the tow bar. The symbols are seen as a hooked rod or bar with a ball shape at the high end, one adding a padlock, and one showing the back of a vehicle with the ball sticking out and an exclamation point, all but one in yellow/amber/orange.
- Before continuing, are you sure this is your symbol?? If yes, then read on below.
- Otherwise, you can return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!
The only remedy is to check the tow bar connection and correct a disconnect. Otherwise, an electrical problem is indicated.

In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
