Creep Off and Fault Dashboard Indicators

Creep Off

This is a CREEP OFF Indicator symbol. The indicator is seen when Creep Start is set to OFF in some vehicles. It is most likely to be seen in yellow/amber/orange, to alert the driver that the brake pedal is not depressed and the vehicle is in drive or manual mode.

  • Before continuing, are you sure this is your symbol?? If so, continue on.
  • If not, you can return to our main Text or Image Symbols pages and scan again!

This feature is similar to Automatic Brake Hold systems, and reside in vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.

However, many electric vehicles (EVs) have been given the ability to creep forward, also when the brake pedal is not depressed. The first warning light to the left is the first we’ve seen in an EV, the Dodge Charger, and is seen in black and white. The second, seen in yellow/amber/orange with an added exclamation point, is a creep fault indicator,

Regenerative braking in the Charger will bring the vehicle to a complete stop if creep is kept off. It can be switched back on at any time.
