Intelligent speed assist fault indicator

Intelligent speed assist

These  are Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) Fault Indicator or Intelligent Speed Limit Assist symbols. The first is seen as the abbreviation ISA in black and white when a problem is detected. The second is essentially a blank speed limit sign with dashes inside in yellow/amber/orange. Most problems are associated with visibility issues due to poor weather conditions or dirty sensors and cameras.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

These symbols and systems, from Smart and Genesis, respectively,  in this case, are directly associated with Traffic Sign Recognition Systems. The system uses traffic and speed limit signs to adjust the vehicle’s speed automatically.

There is more on traffic sign recognition here. Recognition is affected by the camera’s field of view, the relative camera position and of the speed limit or traffic sign, which may cause errors in recognition of speed limits.
