Lincoln emergency start page overhauled

Lincoln start page.

Our Lincoln emergency start page has now had a much needed facelift. The page’s table of contents will now take visitors to their specific model.

The overhaul was prompted by the addition of yet another back-up or emergency start option for Navigator models. There are now three of them, depending the model year.

Emergency or back-up start procedures are made necessary in keyless start vehicles when the battery in the key fob is depleted or when radio interference blocks the fob’s signal.

Sadly Lincoln models feature 11 distinct back-up start locations. These locations are used to place the key fob so that the vehicle can recognize it.

While the majority of these locations are in and around the center console, the company simply will not settle on a single spot. The latest addition for Navigator models is to the right.

No amount of encouragement from us has ever made a dent.

You can see all 11 of Lincoln‘s emergency start spots on the overhauled page here.

Remember — only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
