A review of Suzuki emergency open and start processes for 2025 models is complete. No changes were found.
We are as yet unable to access 2026 owner’s manuals.
Emergency or back-up open and start processes for keyless start vehicles are necessary in the event of radio interference or if the battery in the key fob dies.
Suzuki continues to go easy on its customers. There are no keyholes hiding behind caps or door handles. All models equipped with a keyless start system have a visible key hole.
Also, all models that use a keyless start system feature the simplest emergency start process — touch the key fob too the start/stop button. Or simply push the button with the fob. The vehicle recognizes the fob and starts.
In the process, we learned that there is a new 2026 electric Vitara available, at least in Australia. Once again, getting a manual for the model was simply not possible.
Given Suzuki‘s track record for simplicity, we expect the processes we are aware of extend to the e Vitara.
Back-up or emergency open and start processes for keyless start Suzuki models can be seen here.
