New color treatment added to our Land Rover symbols page

A re-arrangement of the Land Rover symbols page by color is complete.

We finished the creation of the Porsche page, which was admittedly a bear, and thought we’d take a break from our European pages and update a simpler one, Ram. The company offers only four vehicles and already we’ve added 26 new symbols to the page and we’re only done with two of the models!

In any case, took a break and re-ordered the Land Rover symbols page, which makes 43 pages now reflecting the new color ordering, including our primary pictographic symbols page. We are nearly 90% of the way through the reordering of the now, with the addition of Porsche, 49 manufacturer symbols pages.

The page holds only about 60 entries, and it too is due for an update. No prediction of where it will take us. We’d likely be wrong…

The re-ordering has red warning lights up first, followed by red with yellow/amber/orange (depending on how you see the color!) options, then strictly yellow/amber/orange symbols and warning lights, blue and green symbols and finally white and gray scale indicators.

As we’ve said, ordering the page by color provides a cleaner, simpler option for drivers searching for information on a new symbol. We should have made these changes long ago.

Cars are changing, and among those changes is the growing number of symbols and indicators that will invariably show up on your dashboard or instrument panel. Every year, new features are added to vehicles, each of which is accompanied by a new symbol or symbols and likely a new abbreviation or acronym.

At DashboardSymbols.com, our aim is to help you understand what is happening to your vehicle at the first sign of trouble — a new warning light illuminated on your instrument panel. Its all here on this website. Our first intention is to bring the latest technologies down to earth and understandable for everyday drivers.

Our dashboard symbols page covering Land Rover warning lights and indicators, and its 60-odd entries, can be seen here.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
