New York Auto Show touts its success

Well, I never actually got to the New York Auto Show, but since I had registered, a note of thanks showed up. It seems the event showed signs of strength in 2026.

Since the pandemic, we had noted a drop off of manufacturers setting up shop in New York in previous visits. We had already noted a number of returnees this year in a previous post. While some remain missing, among the returnees were Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Nissan and Infiniti.

Among the milestones for 2026, the show reported that Media registrations reached 2,406, surpassing 2025 levels, industry registrations increased year-over-year and

Hyundai BoulderFurther, a number of Global and North American debuts occurred at the show. These included the Kia EV3 making its first appearance in North America and

The Hyundai Boulder, an interesting Concept sport utility vehicle (right) make its World debut.

Stellantis unveiled its updated Chrysler Pacifica for 2027.

We had previously noted the Fastport eQuad from Honda (below) intended for the North American market. It’s a 4-wheel electric vehicle intended for local delivery services.

eQuadThe Show reported record paid-gate attendance on the first weekend and that on-site and online ticket sales showed a 23.5% increase year-over-year, surpassing post-pandemic attendance levels as far back as 2022.

The debuted the Automotive News Global Outlook panel that tackled controversial and challenging subjects from politics and global economics to international influences.

Organizers promise to share deeper analysis of the results and insights from this year’s Show. We’ll pass along anything of interest.
