Distraction warning indicators

Distraction warnings

These are Distraction Warning Indicator symbols. They appear when a distraction detection system, from Audi, finds reason to believe that the driver has been doing things that might distract from the road, such as adjusting the seat. A tone will be heard if the system determines that the level of distraction is high.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

Each symbol, in black and white or yellow/amber/orange, warns of the same thing and in the same way. A message will appear on the instrument panel with a specific warning. This is necessary because the black and white image also warns that the detection system is unavailable. Its an electronic system, so it may return for use on a re-start. If not, find a qualified repair shop.

The system can be turned off and can also be adjusted between high, medium and low sensitivity. The symbols appear as open eyes with an exclamation point.

Do not mix these symbols up with those seen to the right that also feature an eye. They are associated with monitoring a driver’s alertness. Click here for more.
