Driving over the holiday

AAA expects that over 73 million people will be driving over the holiday. That a whole lot of travel by car over Thanksgiving, and represents 1.3 million more travelers than last year.

Further, AAA warns that those numbers, which already represent nearly 90% of all Thanksgiving travelers, could be higher if people who want to avoid airports given the spate of recent flight cancellations.

On the plus side, fuel prices are roughly what they were a year ago. And AAA said it responded to nearly 600,000 emergency roadside assistance calls last Thanksgiving period to help drivers with issues like dead batteries, flat tires and empty fuel tanks.

In light of that, we found a great short video describing all of the items to check before hitting the road, with all the right advice. You can see it here — it will help you avoid that call for help.

Happy Thanksgiving, stay calm and safe travels to all.
