New emergency start procedures for 2026 Palisade and Ioniq 9 models necessitated the creation of a separate Hyundai emergency start page. It can be seen here.

Emergency start procedures are needed in the event that the battery in the key fob is depleted or electrical interference blocks the device’s signal.

Thirteen years ago, Hyundai consolidated all emergency start procedures into the simple “touch the key fob to the start/stop button” method.

But now for reasons unknown, two new procedures are needed for Palisade models and another for the Ioniq 9. The Ioniq 9 is method to the right.

Attempting to add these methods to the page gummed up what was already a confusing page, in retrospect. So, we separated Hyundai and will do the same for the Genesis brand, leaving Kia as the owner of the original page.
