Subaru Intelligent Drive system indicators

SI Drive

These are Subaru Intelligent Drive System or SI Drive Indicator symbols. This system was initially designed to maximize high-voltage battery life in a hybrid vehicle. ‘I’ indicates that intelligent mode is selected, where battery life is automatically maximized.

The ‘S’ symbol indicates that sport mode is chosen, providing increased performance and leaving battery life in the driver’s hands.

This is a Sport mode indicator with an added hash tag is Sport Sharp mode. This makes the throttle more responsive. The entire set of SI Drive options are also now found in non-hybrid vehicles from the manufacturer.

If you are surprised to see one of these images on your instrument panel, it is likely that a mode has been accidently chosen. Activation switches are to one side of the steering wheel on the dashboard.
