Rear spoiler malfunction indicators

Rear spoiler malfunction

These are Rear Spoiler Malfunction Indicator symbols. They are seen when the rear spoiler does not extend automatically at high speeds as it should. This is a system employed by Audi in the A7 and TT models, and it is recommended that the vehicle not be driven over 85 mph when either light is seen.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

The spoiler in the A7 and TT extends automatically at about 75 mph. In the A7 RS version, it will extend at about 62 mph. It will retract automatically when the speed drops below about 50 mph or 37 mph, respectively.

The spoiler increases the vehicle’s stability ay higher speeds. The malfunction lights indicate that the spoiler may not be able to extend. The indicator will be yellow/amber/orange initially and will turn red if the speed reaches 85 mph.

Audi recommends cleaning the spoiler compartment and make sure all doors and lids are closed and restart the car after it has fully shut down. If the light or lights return on re-start, see a dealer or qualified service center for repair.
