Super Cruise Status

These are Super Cruise Status Indicator symbols. It will be seen when Super Cruise is engaged and shows the system status. The light is essentially a representation of the car’s steering wheel, complete with controls and is shown in gray scale in the vehicle’s information display.

  • Before continuing, is this truly your symbol?? If yes, then read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!

Super Cruise, which is a brand name belonging to Cadillac, or more specifically General Motors, is a hands-free driving system that is essentially an upgrade of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping systems. It has since been incorporated into Buick models, which uses the second symbol.

How it Works

Super Cruise uses cameras, global positioning system (GPS) sensing, high-precision maps, additional GPS information from OnStar to detect the current lane position and lane markings ahead on limited access freeways under the proper conditions. Super Cruise will not operate otherwise and the indicator will be off. It will also not operate if Driver Attention System (DAS) sees that the driver’s attention is not on the road.

An active OnStar or connected service plan that includes Emergency Services is required in order to use Super Cruise.
