Trail one pedal drive indicators

One pedal drive

These are Trail One Pedal Drive indicator symbols. The system is found on some new (2024) Ford off-road vehicles and allows the driver to accelerate and brake using only the accelerator pedal. The vehicles are gasoline powered and are not related to one pedal driving systems found in electric vehicles (EVs) (below).

  • Before moving on, is one of these truly your symbol??
  • If not, you can return to our main Pictographic Symbols page and scan again!

Note: The Ford EVs uses the same indicator for “traditional” EV one pedal driving. Check this link for more.

When trail one pedal drive is active, the image displays green on the instrument panel. When the system is switched on but is unavailable or on standby, it is seen in grey. When active and the driver releases the accelerator, the brakes automatically engage, which can bring the vehicle to a stop. Actual brake pedal use may be needed in some cases.

The system can only be used on slippery or loose surfaces. Using it on dry, hard surfaces could produce vibrations, bind up the driveline and cause excessive vehicle and tire wear.

For information on EV one pedal driving see this link.
