N Launch Control

This is an N Launch Control Indicator symbol. The symbol is seen when N Launch is chosen. It provides maximum acceleration when the vehicle is at a complete stop, which truthfully sounds like what any vehicle does when its accelerator is floored.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

However, N Launch is a special case from Hyundai in their high-performance, N-branded Ionic 5 and 6 model EVs. When N Launch is selected and in use, the brake and accelerator pedals are fully depressed. The car is “launched” when the brake pedal is released. N Launch is cancelled when the accelerator is released.

For the record, the “N” stands for Namyang, South Korea, which is home to Hyundai‘s global research and development center.

Remember — only proper service and repair procedures will ensure the safe and reliable operation of your car. In addition, proper safety procedures and precautions, such as the use of safety goggles, the right tools and the equipment should be followed at all times to eliminate the possibility of personal injury or improper service which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
