Battery conditioning mode indicators

Battery conditioning.

These are electric vehicle (EV) Battery Conditioning Mode Indicator symbols. One or the other will be seen when the EV’s high-voltage battery is set to pre-condition its temperature prior to DC charging.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

These symbols are used by Kia. When the battery is too hot, the indicator with the fan image will be seen (first image). If the battery is too cold, the indicator with the heat rising lines image will be seen (second image). Both are shown in green.

These are essentially weather dependent. The EV high voltage battery responds to the temperature of its current environment.

Note one other indicator is used for battery conditioning, and its one previously used for diesel powered vehicles. It too was used by Kia. You can see more on it here

Technology is always changing and what is current and accurate today may be literally out-of-date and inaccurate tomorrow. And when it comes to the current state of flux in the auto industry, nothing is more true.
