This is a Trailer Lighting Fault indicator symbol used on some Volvo vehicles. It points strictly to an issue with the lighting. Be sure to do a thorough check of the wiring connections before continuing on your way.

The symbol is seen as a trailer with an oval above with lines streaking out. As it is seen in black and white, its likely that text will be seen in the message center confirming the issue.

The indicator to the left is usually associated with lighting issues, but the Smart division of Mercedes-Benz uses it to indicate a Trailer Towing Module fault. The towing module is associated with Trailer Stability Assist but may also indicate a trailer lighting issue. Start with checking the wiring connections.
