Trailer sway detection and control indicators

Sway detection and control.

This is a Trailer Sway Control Indicator symbol. The system is used by some manufacturers while towing in conjunction with the Stability Control System. And much like that system, the Sway Control Indicator will flash when sway is detected and being corrected. It is seen in black and white as a trailer with wavy lines on both side on the vehicle’s information screen.

This symbol comes from Lucid and is a Trailer Sway Detected Indicator. However, the vehicle is equipped with Trailer Sway Mitigation such that if the trailer begins to sway excessively, the brakes will be applied automatically. It is seen in yellow/amber/orange and consists of a trailer image with wavy lines beneath it.

The warning symbol displayed on the instrument panel is intended to have the driver slow down and to ultimately check load distribution to mitigate trailer sway.
