Over the Air Update Indicators

Over The Air Update

This is an Over the Air (OTA) Update Available Indicator symbol. It appears in the shape of a cloud with an exclamation point inside it in black and white. Depending on the manufacturer, this may appear in the information display or on the large infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. The cloud symbol is from Polestar.

  • Before moving on, is this truly your symbol??
  • If not, you can return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!

The indicator means that an update has been downloaded and is ready to be installed. The over the air concept is available only from manufacturers who have adopted the technology. At the time of this post, they are few and far between.

This is a set of over the air update indicators from Lincoln. The first, with the bell, indicates that an update is ready to be installed. The second, with an exclamation point notes that the update failed or was stopped. The last one, with the check mark says that the update was successful.

These symbols will be seen on the infotainment center screen.
