Automatic electric park brake off indicators

Auto park brake.

These are Automatic Electric Park Brake Off Indicator symbols. They are seen as the circle in brackets, which is the common overall image used for brakes. The capital letter P in the center is used for park brake and the word off is added beneath. Finally, the letter A breaks the circle in the first image and the word Auto is above in the second, all in yellow/amber/orange.

  • Before continuing, is one of these truly your symbol?? If yes, read on below.
  • Otherwise, you can return to our main Manufacturer Symbols pages and scan again!

Electric park brakes deploy automatically by default, so it is likely that a fault in the system has been detected. If this is the case, the park brake can and should be operated manually.

Note that as an electrical system, a reset may be accomplished by shutting down and restarting the vehicle.

Further, deactivation of automatic operation is possible and may be necessary in certain situations, such as in extreme cold weather conditions or when towing. Deactivation is a complicated process involving several steps. Consult the operation manual for instructions.
